SOLD!!!

What an experience. After a 4 week marketing campaign, yesterday we went along to the auction on our house. There were 5 bidders which was a terrific number of people and 2 of them went all out, obviously both wanting it. When the hammer fell, we had sold for more than we expected we were happy and the people who bought it were really happy. It was an amazing experience and left us on a huge high. So that's Goal No. 1, get my promotion, Goal No. 2, sell the house DONE. On to Goal No. 3

Megan's Retreat

Megan is busy sorting everything out for her Retreat this year. She always has so much organised, a ton of wonderful prizes and sponsorship from some very cool places. Every year we have a lot of laughs, catch up with scrapbook friends and learn new things. I forget how inspiring it is to be around a bunch of other scrapbookers. I always come away with a whole lot of new ideas that I'd never thought of before.

So if you are free the weekend of 24-26 September 2010 jump onto Megan's blog and Register now. You are guaranteed a great weekend.

Claims Consultant

My first day as a Claims Consultant. A huge achivement for me. The people I work with understand how big a step this is for me, the people at home, don't seem to give a damn. Interesting isn't it how those people who are supposed to care for us the most are either so disinterested or so wrapped up in their own lives that your achievements become unimportant, or at the least not worth commenting on.

I sometimes wonder what it would be like to live in a family who celebrated each others achievements rather than acting as if nothing important has been achieved and it wasn't anything other than an ordinary day.

So my 1 or 2 blog readers. Today was my fist day at work as a Claims Consultant. I assessed my first claim and received a "perfect" high five back from my team leader. I hope that I can continue on as I began .

GOALS

1st Goal of the year - Lose 20kg. I am losing weight but no matter what the scales say, everytime I try something on in a shop I still expect that it won't fit!!! Weird I know, it's just that it has been so long since I have been able to fit "average" sized clothes that I'm still finding it hard to believe. However, I've been a bit slack the last few weeks. I've been busy, Mark was in Wellington and I was cooking for everyone and 10 year old boys and 7 year old boys are not really into stirfry and I've been battling the flu so not exercising as I should be. So, time to call a halt, take stock and set down in black and white my goal to lose another 4kg by the end of June. Suddenly the end of June is not that far away so when I set that down I'm already a bit panicked, but I can do it. I've been strong this year, working towards my goal and today is the day that I refocus.

2nd Goal of the year - ACHIEVED. Last week I was offered the promotion I had hoped to one day be offered at work. As from next Monday I will be a Claims Consultant, with my own cases to manage, not just the Claims Administrator. Wooohooo. I need to get better, fitter, thinner and really apply my energy to this job to repay all the people at work who have faith in my ability to make a good job of it. It feels so great to be happy at work again. For the first time in the last 3 or so years I feel like I am where I want to be and am achieving

3rd Goal of the year - Sell our house. This has been a bit of a difficult decision but we all realise that it is time to make the move, to reorganise our living arrangements just a little to allow us all a bit more space. Some days I absolutely long for my own kitchen and the power to do whatever I want in it whenever I want. Who knew a kitchen could be so important. It's not just the kitchen of course, it's the whole, having the ability to make your own decisions in your own place, which I have really missed in the last 6 years. So we have put our house on the market. We have 4 weeks of advertising then it is going to auction. I've no idea how that is going to go but we are willing to give it a try. Selling will mean moving onto the next goal, but I'm not going to tell about that one until we have a sale. We will all miss lots of things about this house, the pool, the garden, the neighbourhood, but its exciting to be onto the next adventure.

Things to know about me

1. I've tried going to a gym but I'd really rather just go for a walk.
2. I'm always thinking about what I can eat but I can only eat salad.
3. I don't mind snacking on carrots but I really wish they were potato chips.
4. If I don't lose weight it will be nobodys fault but my own.
5. I'm happy to say that last week I lost 1.4kg and now I've lost 13.7kg in total.
